Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Posted by on October 11, 2013

No self respecting baker can get by without a great choc chip cookie recipe. This is my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe adapted from one on the back of the flour sack!! I added extra egg to make it a bit softer and I only use butter.

Butter has the flavour that I like in my baked goods.

This is my basic chocolate chip cookie dough.

1 ½ cups butter, softened

1 ¼ cups granulated sugar

1 ¼ quarter cups packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla

3 eggs

4 cups all purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

1. Heat oven to 375 F.

2. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars, vanilla, and eggs on medium speed or with spoon until light and fluffy.

3. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Dough will be stiff. Stir in chocolate chips.

4. On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by tablespoonsful, or small ice cream scoop, 2 inches apart.

5. Flatten slightly.

6. Bake 12 minutes or until light brown.

Cool 1 to 2 minutes, then remove from baking sheet to cooling rack.

Makes about 6 dozen cookies. These cookies have been dipped in my chocolate dip mix.
